Wattio shows the effective power reaching the battery, not the number printed on the adapter. Some energy is always lost as heat, and charging slows down above 80%. A reading a few watts below the rating is normal and healthy.
iOS gives apps no instant wattage reading — Wattio has to watch the battery percentage move over time to calculate speed. The live number appears within about a minute, and the longer the test runs, the more accurate it gets. Keep the phone idle during a test for the best result.
The battery percentage needs to rise by at least ~1% before a result can appear. Very short tests (under ~15 seconds) or using the phone heavily while testing are discarded. Try again with the screen off and the phone untouched.
iOS does not let any app read the brand or type of a charger or cable. Instead, Wattio recognises a charger by its measured power: name one once (the gear icon on a result) and it's recognised automatically next time.
Apple provides no battery-health API, so you enter the number yourself from Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging → Maximum Capacity. Wattio charts it over time so you can see how your battery ages.
Enable notifications when prompted. The alarm fires a notification at your target percentage. For the sound, keep Wattio open or use the Live Activity so iOS keeps it active while charging.
iOS refreshes widgets on its own schedule to save battery, so figures can lag by a few minutes. Open the app to force the latest values.
